President Visits Jayapura

Jayapura, Papua, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with Papuan and West Papuan provincial government officials here Sunday evening for talks about accountable asset and financial management.

The upgrading program, which took place at the state building of Papuan governor`s residential complex, was aimed at improving accountability of those in charge of managing the provinces` assets and financial resources.

The program was organized by the Papuan and West Papuan provincial governments in cooperation with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Financial Supervisory and Development Agency (BPKP).

President Yudhoyono is in the Papuan capital of Jayapura for a two-day working visit.
On Monday, the head of state would attend the opening session of the 2010 national meeting of the Student Executive Board (BEM) at the Cendrawasih State University.

Cabinet ministers, military and police high officials joining the the president`s activity included Coordinating Minister for Social Welfare Agung Laksono, Home Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Finance Minister Agus Martowardoyo, Agriculture Minister Suswono, and National Education Minister M Nuh.
